The purpose to prepare elicitation is to ensure that all the required resources are organized and scheduled for conducting the activities of elicitation. This task involves the following steps:

Steps 1: Clarifying Elicitation scope

Before initiating the process of elicitation, the objective required to achieve through the activity is specified. This means the scope of a session or a phase of elicitation is captured formally in a meeting and communicated to all the stakeholders involved in the meeting. In this step, a detailed elicitation plan might also be created which include information regarding the stakeholders involved in the elicitation process and their roles.

Step 2: Collecting supporting materials

This is the most significant step of entire elicitation process which can involve research into artifacts or documentation which exists already. During this step, deliverables can also be created using requirement analysis as a starting point for an elicitation discussion. In this step, questionnaires can be used as supporting material.

Step 3: Scheduling resources

After collecting all the supporting material necessary for the elicitation activity, there is a need to schedule the meeting. Apart from scheduling meetings, a person involved in the process of elicitation can also reschedule the meeting multiple times for identifying a time which is best suitable for all the participants.

When having one-on-one interaction, it must be ensured that all the opinions or ideas of other team members are listened to properly. 

Encourage two-way feedback: For having a smooth working environment, it is necessary to acquire a two-way communication process. In the workplace, feedback plays a crucial role in generating results, where the main objective communication is to strengthen the progress towards the goals of a company. One common mistake which is made by most of the leaders when offering feedback is turning into the feedback process or one-way dialogue. Encouraging two-way feedback is considered as the sign of perfect communication in the workplace which helps in providing an opportunity to the team to make self-evaluation. 

Conduct team building tasks: Team building activities create a significant impact on the overall teamwork and productivity.  This can help to build good relationships with one another and create structure opportunities for other team members by collaborating through activities such as ice breaker games, team lunch etc.
