Projects Negotiation and Conflict Report
1 THE PROJECTS
1.1 Project 1: Forward strategy for payroll system
Start working on the project by collecting all the requirements and examine as well as analyse them. Moreover, it must analyse different models that are useful for distribution of services needed for Queensland Payroll system in Australia. It must enlist accurate payroll systems for the elimination of limitations related to existing system.
1.2 Project 2: Governance and decision-making
To make required changes in existing system, the complete list related to all the essential decisions must be made for future. Just initiate with the base of the system that handles the task force as well as liabilities related to higher authorities and allocating them with various tasks. Moreover, their performance will be examined along with their capabilities in appropriate manner.
1.3 Project 3: People and change
The project work must be initiated with people who have capability to become an appropriate leader to lead the system development. Moreover, the change management must be implemented for the management of all the changes in existing working environment in appropriate manner. The change management will also enable the frontline staff to handle the overall changes appropriately.
1.4 Project 4: Funding
The funding system depends on new costs that have emerged with new proposed system. These costs mainly involve cost about project management, maintenance cost, requirement collection cost etc.
2 THE PARTICIPANTS
2.1 Project 1: Forward strategy for payroll system
The project owner has an essential role who performs various tasks such as management of project scope, cost management, project schedule and all other operations related to project. These all mentioned factors will be managed by the owner only.
Designers in the project have negotiating position for cost management, scope management and other architectural aspects. But designers can never be involved in any conflict with project owner as the designer only prepare the design for the project.
The contractors also have negotiating position in the project for cost management, scope management and other aspects related to the project. The designers in the project may not accept the strategy of contractor that can further cause some conflicts.
2.2 Project 2: Governance and decision-making
The project owner plays an important role who assigned have different responsibilities in the project that mainly involve all the aspects related to project management such as scope, schedule, cost and other operations.
The designers in the project also have negotiating position for various aspects related to project management who prepares the design according to the requirements in very appropriate manner.
The contractors in the project have transferring position in the project for various aspects related to management. There can be a possibility that contractors may ask about increased timelines and investments in the project that can also cause some conflicts in relationship between contractor and owner.
2.3 Project 3: People and change
The main task which is performed by owner is to handle overall project and overcome all the problems related to it such as cost overrun, time of the project etc.
The negotiating position of the designers is to make the system design by considering all the requirements. Moreover, the design must be appropriate and simple in all manners
The potential conflicts in relationships that the designers may have are the difficult user interfaces, lack of attractiveness etc.
The negotiating position of the contractors will be the management of overall tasks related to construction and preparation of schedule.
The potential conflicts in relationships that the contractors may face during the development of project involve performance, more time taken by construction related tasks etc.
2.4 Project 4: Funding
Funds in the project are essential aspects that must be managed in appropriate manner.
It is a major responsibility of project owner that the planning of the project will be done in accurate manner, which was not appropriate during the development of previous project of Queensland’s payroll system.
In design of current payroll system, some limitations have been found due to which it is difficult to handle all the changes in the system.
There were several contractors involved during the development of payroll system and for making the payments of that contractors, more funds were needed.
3 THE NEGOTIATION INTERACTION PROCESS
3.1 Project 1: Forward strategy for payroll system
By using the conventional approaches, it needs to examine the negotiations among targeted people.
3.2 Project 2: Governance and decision-making
The project negotiations are effectively investigated by governance and decision makers that also help in preparing list of all the options on basis of estimations made by them.
3.3 Project 3: People and change
Negotiations among project stakeholders or other people related to the system are considered as very useful for achieving overall objectives defined for existing system.
3.4 Project 4: Funding
There is a requirement to select some investors in order to fulfil the requirements of the funds in the project.
4 THE NEGOTIATION METHODS
4.1 Project 1: Forward strategy for payroll system
There is a need to describe the goals and objectives in order to make proper plan for the preparation of structure of system.
4.2 Project 2: Governance and decision-making
It must ignore the essential factors related to honesty and trust, while making decisions with negotiators.
4.3 Project 3: People and change
It must prefer the area of interest about each individual while making negotiation for the project.
4.4 Project 4: Funding
For resolving issues about over-budget, it can use different plans for the management of overall funding process in more accurate manner.
5 THE OUTCOME
5.1 Project 1: Forward strategy for payroll system
With the help of design bid build, there is requirement deploy an appropriate payroll system. This approach is used for minimizing the tender cost related to design of system as per previously prepared design.
5.2 Project 2: Governance and decision-making
The governing bodies play very important role in the development of the project for performing various tasks at different stages that basically involve construction, analysis, designing etc.
5.3 Project 3: People and change
All people associated to the development of project are formatted into various categories that mainly involve integrated form, partnership, alliances etc.
5.4 Project 4: Funding
For making the funds more efficient, ECI requires to perform initially during the development of project.
