Some Concepts of Physics That Should Be Known By Everyone

Does physics have any relation to our day-to-day lives?
Many of you may think that the answer is no, but in reality, it is essential for everyone to understand the basics of physics. There are many benefits of knowing the basics of physics concepts like:
•    It can make you look smarter in front of your boss.
•    It can open the doors for you in a variety of fields which can be a boost for your career
•    It can help you in getting out of a ditch and avoiding car crashes.
Before moving forward, let us understand what exactly physics is?
Physics refers to the study of matter and movement of matter in the space as well as space of the world.
Physics is considered as one of the fundamental parts of sciences. It consists of huge variety of subjects.
In the article, you will walk through some of the basic concepts of physics that will make you understand this subject in a better and effective way.
If you are looking for more help learning physics precisely, you can avail for Physics Homework Help.

1.    The Laws of Motion (Classical Mechanics)
As a student, you obviously have heard the story of Isaac Newton sitting under a tree, and then articulating basic laws of motion.
Though the story is fictional to some extent, it involves some truth too.
In the year 1687, a book named as “Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica was published by Isaac Newton. The fundamental laws of motion or classical mechanics were laid down in the book.
Newton explained the three laws of classical mechanics in his book which are as follows:
•    Until and unless an object is acted on by some external force, that specific object at rest will remain at rest, and the object in motion will remain in motion at the same velocity.
•    Force is equal to mass times acceleration.
•    When a force is exerted by one object on another, an equal and opposite force is exerted by the second object on the first.
These laws of motion may sometimes sound a little immaterial, but when given a deep thought, it can be noticed that these laws of motion are applicable on everyday lives.
For example, when a ball is placed on a flat surface, it will remain still as long as someone does not kick it or the wind blows it. When placed on a hill, gravity is acted upon it and the ball goes downwards.

2.    Thermodynamics
The relationship between energy, heat, and mechanical work is studied under the concept of thermodynamics.
The study of thermodynamics spins around 4 laws. The laws develop from a basic elucidation of heat as movement.
At an atomic level, what you observe as temperature, is actually atomic movement.
For instance, on a hot day, atoms are excited by the solar energy in the atmosphere of the Earth to vibrate quickly. Energy is carried by this vibration which is then transmitted to your skin and makes you feel warm.

3.    Electromagnetism
Do you know what is light?
It is not possible to answer this question if you are not aware of the concept of electromagnetism.
Electromagnetism forms part of 4 basic forces that are known for governing the universe. It refers to the forces that are generated by the electrons and are found in different types of matter all over the universe.

There are some kinds of matter like compounds that are found in magnets. They contain electrons that are arranged in such a manner that they exert force on other electrons.
Energy is exerted by these compounds on other charged particles. This is the reason because of which a magnet appeals a paperclip and not your finger.
Electromagnetic radiation is applicable in our day-to-day lives. Visible light forms part of electromagnetic radiation.
Other examples of electromagnetic radiation are radio waves, x-rays, etc.
